CBORD exceeds its United Way Campaign Goal for Second Year in a Row
For Immediate Release
September 25, 2006
Ithaca, New York—Employees of The CBORD Group, Inc. are pleased to announce that they
have exceeded their contribution goal to the United Way Fund yet again this year.
Ithaca-based employees donated $42,264 to the organization in 2005 — going above and beyond
their goal of $30,000. This year, the campaign was extended to the company’s other US office
locations in Canton, OH, Cypress, CA, Farmington, NY, and Waco, TX. Collectively, employees
raised $46,067, which includes the company’s matching contribution of up to $125 per employee
gift.
"Each year, CBORD commits a large portion of its philanthropy to the United Way," said Dara Vincent, a United Way committee representative at CBORD’s Ithaca, NY office. "We believe that through helping the organization, we can improve the quality of life in our communities." CBORD’s United Way committee creatively bolstered support from employees by holding special events, including an ice cream social, a luncheon sponsored by The Boatyard Grill, and a dunking booth (with involvement from the company’s management team).
Vincent continued: "I am pleased, but not surprised by the overwhelming participation we experienced that allowed us to surpass our goal. We hope to continue this level of contribution for many years to come."
CBORD has been involved with the United Way for the past 15 years. John Alexander, the company’s founder and Chairman of the Board, serves on the United Way of Tompkins County’s Board of Directors and County Chairs’ Roundtable.
